Sunday Scoop - Last One of the Year!

Good morning, Friends!  I am linking up with Teaching Trio for their Sunday Scoop linky party.
My husband has been busily working on finishing up our upstairs bathrooms.  That has inspired me to clean up this place.  I have filled his dump trailer one time, taken a huge load to Value Village, and have the second trailer load filling up fast.  The shopping is connected to this renovation.  I need to get new towels, etc. for the new bathrooms.
Handles and towel bars in the works
Shower
The ensuite bathroom is grey and black.  These are going to be beautiful!!!
My house has a ton of treats but not much real food.  I definitely need to take a trip to the grocery store!
Does anyone have a suggestion for a great book to read for fun?  Thanks for sharing.

Sunday Scoop - Last Week!

I am linking up with Teaching Trio for their fun Sunday Scoop Linky Party.
These are my last five days of school before Christmas Break.
1. Last week, our Paragraph of the Week was about a special talent.  Some of my students had a difficult time thinking of something they were good at.  But they all came through in the end.  :)  This week, we will be writing about our holiday traditions.
2. I always like to give the Scholastic Book Coupons at Christmas!  I put them with a holiday pencil, eraser, etc.
3. I started a Weebly blog this year, and I absolutely love it!  It is so user friendly!

Tonight is my sister-in-law's 50th birthday!  The prime rib is about to go in the oven!  Yum!  Then we watch Elf!  I love that movie!!!

What are you doing this week?

Holiday Concert Art

We had a crazy busy week!  But our holiday concert was a huge success!  Here is what we did to help decorate the gym for the big night.  I bought this product from Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Designs.
Then I made this template.
I cut black cardstock in half.  The children used pastels to colour the bulbs.  Then they cut and glued them onto the black cardstock.  We glue-gunned on the string.  And voila!
The children hung them up side by side - all around the gym.  So pretty.

For those of you with some school days left, enjoy!  Five more for me.  :)

Currently December

I am linking up with Farley of Oh Boy 4th Grade for her amazing Currently party.
Most of these are self explanatory.  Here is info on the others:

Thinking:  We just got our Secret Santa names at school.  I LOVE Secret Santa!  I've already picked up a few things for my person.
Wanting:  Is this wrong?  In soon snowy Canada, I still want a barbecue?  My husband used to barbecue year round and I have so missed our barbecue since it broke.
Giving:  Click on the picture below to download my Alphabet Clip Art for free.  This will only be a free product until the Weekend, so download now.
Don't forget to link up!!

Who doesn't love a great sale!!!  Everything in my store is on sale for an additional 20% on December 1st and 2nd.  (Can you believe it is nearly December already?)

We had some excellent P.D. this morning.  A group of us got to go hear George Couros speak.  He was amazing!  He was inspiring!  Has anyone else seen him before?
I hope you had a chance to enjoy that little snippet.  Have a great night!

Bullying Awareness Week

This is Bullying Awareness Week here in little old Canada.  On Friday, we are supposed to wear blue as a sign of peace and safety.  If you want to check out the website, it is here.  There are some good links in it.  If you click on Wednesday, there is information on cyberbullying.  Here are two videos for you to watch.
What do you do at your school to prevent bullying?

Sunday Scoop - Nov. 16

I am linking up with Teaching Trio on this day in which I ran in the SNOW!  What is wrong with this place?  Snow in November?  No, thank you!!!
We are singing the sweetest song for the holiday concert.  Here is a video of another choir doing it.
Isn't that beautiful?  (I'm sure we will sound just like that.  Lol!)
We have been writing descriptive paragraphs.  First we each had a honey crisp apple.  We used our senses to brainstorm words to describe the apple.  Then we wrote a paragraph together.  Hence, I have some apples left over to make apple crisp with.  I guess I didn't count the apples in the bags very well.

Ribs are in the oven.  It is starting to smell very yummy in here!!!  Have a great night!

Currently November - For Real?

I am linking up with Farley at Oh Boy 4th Grade for her Currently linky party.

I know I have been somewhat AWOL but we have had a rough go in my house.  Our Thanksgiving was awesome, but then we came home to find out our oldest kitty, Rufus, was not eating very much.  Now he was one of the best kitties you could imagine!  He was more like a dog/cat.  Anyway, he passed away.  Now we are a three cat family.  (That sounds a bit more normal, doesn't it?  Still sad though.)  My black and white kitty, Jax, smashed my iPhone just prior to Thanksgiving.  I got the glass replaced but the camera was not working.  Everything was super blurry!  And you know how important our camera is to us...  So yesterday, I accidentally got a new iPhone 6!  Hello photos!!!!!!!
As you can see from my Currently, having report cards done is the BEST!  Is it too early to start some Christmas shopping?

I'm sure you would like to see one of the first photos from my new phone.
Sweet Cassie missing her big brother
Have an amazing week!  I'm going to be a much better friend from now on.  :)

Wordless Wednesday

It has been ages since I have written to you!  First of all, I had a cold that hung on for weeks!!!!!  Then bad kitty, Jax, broke my iPhone!  He smashed it to smithereens.  Don't worry - I have an Otterbox now.  Lesson learned.  Then, this weekend I had fabulous intentions of writing - even just to say Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends, but our family getaway location had very very poor internet.

Anyway, I'm linking up with Miss DeCarbo at Sugar and Spice for Wordless Wednesday.
So here it it:
This is one of my favourite places in the world!  Our whole family goes here every Thanksgiving to relax by... walking down the mountain!  I hit over 20000 steps on my fitbit!!!

What we've been up to?  We finished our place value unit with some Scholastic Book Order shopping.
We have also been experimenting with some optical illusions in art.
Check in on my blog on Sunday - I will be hosting a fabulous giveaway!!  Have a  great night!

A Year of Awesome Linky

I am linking up with Erin of Mrs. Beattie's Classroom for her Year of Awesome linky.
On Monday, we read Enemy Pie and started our Mentor Sentence work.  We also had not only a Bus Safety presentation, but also a Walk, Bike, Ride... to School presentation.  The children were excellent listeners!
On Tuesday, we finished up our portraits and our writing about ourselves in preparation for Open House.  We did Erin's Number Sense Scoot Game.  My students loved it!

The highlight of Wednesday was our Place Value Jeopardy!  They loved that too!!!  We also watched a very short video from 3-2-1 Contact on Light.
I was at school today for twelve hours!  It was our Open House.  The parents were so nice.  We started our day with a fire drill.  That set some students off immediately.
We had a P.A. Day today.  The children got a long weekend.  Our day was very productive!  We got some time in the afternoon to collaborate with our grade team.  It was awesome!

How was your week?  Link up with Erin and share.  :)
